On Thursday March 30, over 150 home industry professionals gathered at the Boston Innovation & Design Building for Boston magazine’s annual Top Places to Live event, celebrating the March real estate issue.
A recent NYC Networking Event invited agents from the Tri-State area to share sales tactics, get to know each other and refer business to each of their local communities. The second William Raveis Real Estate has held this year broadened the experience for agents, 4,000 strong, and provided a more comprehensive and dynamic environment in which to network with each other.

We all know someone in our lives that has been touched by cancer. Unfortunately, most of us have at one time felt the unavoidable and devastating sting that it can leave on our family and friends. And that’s why we at William Raveis have partnered with Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to raise funds that go directly to cancer research.

Serena Crowley, an architectural designer in CA, Chicago, CT & London) was on the hunt for a new house in New Canaan and William Raveis agent, Hannelore Kaplan was tasked with the job. (The two have a great friendship they’ve developed over the years in New Canaan). She discovered that this gorgeous home at 64 Oak Street (only a 10 min walk from the train station) was to be made into a multi-family condo and showed the exterior to Serena. They contacted the owners, a couple that had lived there since the 1940’s, and together they made an offer.

Just a half-hour ferry ride from the center of Boston, Hingham, MA is a commuter’s waterfront paradise. Leaving work to head to Boston’s South Wharf and boarding a ship home is reminiscent of older Boston times. It’s got a classically American feel to it; coming home by sea. Founded in 1633 and named Bare Cove before its current moniker became permanent two years later, Hingham is 23 miles to Boston proper. For its waterfront dwellers, suburban life outside the city has some amazing perks. If you were to visit on a weekend, here’s what our locals would have you do.
