In January 2016, as compared to January 2015, Unit Sales* rose 17.0% in Connecticut, 20.0% in New York**, 10.0% in Manhattan, 29.9% in Brooklyn, 3.3% in Rhode Island, 29.2% in Vermont and 23.5% in New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Sales to List Price rose 0.4% in Massachusetts and 2.8% in Maine.
In December 2015, as compared to December 2014, Unit Sales* rose 11.6% in Connecticut, 13.5% in New York**, 22.7% in Manhattan, 30.3% in Brooklyn, 9.7% in Rhode Island, 11.6% in Vermont and 11.4% in New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Sales Price rose 9.0% in Massachusetts and 7.8% in Maine.

In November 2014, as compared to November 2013, Average Sales Price* continued to rise across the Northeast. Prices rose 1.3% in Connecticut, 20.5% in Manhattan, 14.2% in Brooklyn, 5.7% in Massachusetts, 6.8% in Westchester County, New York, 5.3% in Rhode Island and 5.2% in New Hampshire. Additionally, the state of Vermont saw a 7.4% increase in New Listings, year-over-year, while Maine saw a 7.0% increase in Unit Sales.

Average Sale Prices* continued to rise across the Northeast through the end of May 2014, as compared to the same period last year. Pent-up buyer demand remains as eager buyers are willing to spend more when they find that perfect home. Months of Supply fell, adding to the rise in average sale prices. Although Unit Sales continue to decrease, an expected rise in buyer and seller confidence will cause sales to rebound.

In June 2013, as compared to June 2012, Unit Sales* were up throughout the Northeast, with Westchester County leading the pack with a 16 percent increase. Connecticut also saw large gains, with Unit Sales increasing 11.3 percent. Average Sale Price also increased in every state, with Rhode Island experiencing a 7.6 percent jump and Massachusetts seeing a 7.1 percent increase.

In March 2013, as compared to March 2012, the housing market in New England and New York was varied, with unit sales increasing in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine and average sales prices increasing in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont. We are still confident that indicators from the beginning of the year still point toward a growing and strengthening housing market this spring.
