William Raveis Real Estate and William Raveis Mortgage are constantly working to protect and advance the real estate industry, their agents and their clients. As part of a group within the National Association of Realtors (NAR), WRRE and WRM is lobbying the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Federal Reserve Board and Federal Housing Finance Agency directly to help with some of the unintended consequences of the mortgage forbearance provision in the CAREs act. Their main concern is that the provision will prevent access to credit for a significant number of qualified borrowers and disproportionately affect first-time homebuyers and underserved communities who need it the most.
“We are more committed than ever making sure we use our influence to support our industry, our clients, and our sales associates,” said Ryan Raveis, the co-president of WRRE and president of WRM. “Housing is critical to the American economy, and it is crucial that we maintain an environment that allows real estate transactions to happen.”
