Mr. Raveis adds, “We’ve beaten the odds, surviving eight recessions, to achieve this incredible 50-year milestone. Success comes down to having great people to help you grow and innovate over the years. I am grateful to all of them, and to the millions of people who have relied on us to provide exceptional real estate services for a half century.”

In 1974, 27-year-old entrepreneur Bill Raveis, Jr. started a family-owned real estate company in a small office above Mercurio’s Market in his hometown of Fairfield, Conn. William Raveis Real Estate has over 140 offices and 4,500 agents from Maine to Florida and is the #1 independent real estate company in the Northeast, Florida, and South Carolina today. “A town is known by its neighborhoods, its homes, and its people” said First Selectman, Bill Gerber.

Mr. Gerber continued, “There may be no more important business in a municipality than a local real estate office, where the Realtors know the history and the streets, the beaches and the parks, the schools, and the businesses.
